Help in finding a job... Finding a new job can be particularly challenging. I am a recruiter and this advice will stand you in good stead anywhere in the world. What is the one thing that you can do that will give you an advantage over your competitors for that job? Very, very few people do this, yet, if you think about it, its so obvious... What is it? Research! Quality research into a company means more than just knowing what business the company is in. Imagine how impressive it is to your interviewer, usually a company executive, when you can tell them who their competitors are, how much profit the company made last year, what challenges the company (and industry) is facing etc And where do you get this info? Much of it is on the Web. If the company is listed you will get a huge amount of info in their annual report. There are tons of trade magazines available. The Financial newspapers often report on the bigger companies. Any research you do will pay off handsomely in the interview and will definitely give you the edge. Good luck!
